Many Stray Away from Purchasing a Foreclosed Home
In a survey that was taken of 2,400 people from the ages 18 and older there were more than 50 percent of adults that would consider purchasing a foreclosure homes. Those that wouldn’t are mostly concerned that a foreclosure home would have too many problems for them to handle. The survey shows that there is a higher percentage in May than there was in November when only 47 percent would think about buying a foreclosed property.
If purchasing a foreclosed home, 40 percent of the buyers are expected to pay less than 50 percent of the homes worth. For homes that are not owned by banks, but individuals will see their homes marked down at least once. This makes up 24 percent of the individual homeowners.
Those that stray away from buying a foreclosed home since they feel there would be negative aspects about buying it make up 80 percent. There were 85 percent who felt the same way in November. It is believed by 71 percent that there would be hidden costs to a foreclosure and 46 percent believe that the process is too tricky to get involved with. Thirty one percent of the people that wouldn’t buy a foreclosed property believe that the property will continue to lose value.
