Foreclosed Homes are Being Inspected

In Miami-Dade County in Florida there are some ordinances being passed that are not only upsetting homeowners but realtors as well. Commissioners got together to try to develop a way that they believe will keep the neighborhoods from falling apart and bringing down the home values. They want someone to be responsible for keeping the property clean and in order to do so they created two new ordinances that many believe is only developed to bring more money into the city.

For each foreclosed home there is an inspection required before selling. There is a detailed inspection done by an engineer who has to fill out paperwork and turn it into the city. Eventually it gets put online for any potential buyers to look at and know what they are buying. However, there is a problem with this. Within the inspection it is required that appliances be listed and its plumbing as well as how the windows and doors are locked and if they work. Predictions are that these properties listed will allow more vandalism to occur making the realtor companies to clean up the mess.

Homes that are being foreclosed on are also being forced to be inspected before a foreclosure can be processed. It is said that the inspection and paperwork is taking a few days when in fact it is taking more than a couple months. This is only prolonging the process of foreclosure and the purchase of a foreclosed home.
