Foreclosures in Montana
Montana is hardly mentioned when there is a discussion about foreclosures. The reason is probably due to the fact that the state hardly has a problem with homeowners foreclosing. Knowing a homeowner that claimed bankruptcy is also rarely talked about. Montana has a very successful homeowner rate and is luck enough to be able to remain out of the foreclosure and housing crisis.
In the western region of Montana there are two counties that have the highest amount of foreclosures. Flathead has the most foreclosures with more than 60 foreclosures and more than 50 going into foreclosure. There are no more than 10 bankruptcies. Coming right after Flathead is Missoula County with almost 35 foreclosures and about the same amount of homeowners going into foreclosure. The bankruptcy count is a little higher than that of Flathead with more than 20 bankruptcies.
In the northern and eastern regions of Montana there are little to no foreclosures happening. In the southern region there are very few. In Yellowstone there are more than 40 foreclosures and about half that are going into foreclosure. There are less than 10 homeowners that claimed bankruptcy. In Lincoln and Sander there are no more than 10 foreclosures and pre-foreclosures and practically zero bankruptcies.
