Some Homeowners Foreclose Without Receiving Help

With all of the foreclosures that are happening around the United States and all of the programs and laws that are being developed for those that about to go into foreclosure or are in foreclosure it is a wonder how homeowners that have researched for help is not able to get any. Some homeowners that seek help and are turned away are finding difficulties due to how much they make. We hear about how so many homeowners who have lost their jobs and are unable to pay their mortgages and yet they receive help, but how about those that are still working and making a decent paycheck?

There are homeowners that have signed under an adjustable plan that wasn’t expected to go up as high as it did. They fell behind on their payments and tried catching up but it wasn’t enough. Therefore, the lender decides to begin foreclosure procedures even though the borrower actually found someone to sell the property to, but the lender doesn’t want to agree to a short sale. The lender would prefer the borrower to pay up to date what they owe or simply walk away. There was a particular homeowner in Florida that was told he made too much money to be able to receive help and then after finding someone to buy the home for the amount owed, the lender still wouldn’t work out a deal.

After plenty of calling, negotiating, and pursuing, the former owner of the home was able to get the lender to work out a deal for another buyer to purchase the home at a discounted price. There doesn’t seem to be too much help for those that make a decent paycheck and are able to keep their home if they manage to catch up with their payments. Why isn’t it required that the lenders work out a plan with these particular homeowners? Maybe there are still a large number of homeowners that are falling between the cracks of another non-full proof plan.
